Though there is a high incidence of child abuse in Colombia, it still ranks as the 5th country with the highest number of happy students at 92.2%. A huge number of children are denied access to education due to the prevailing armed conflicts in the country. Colombia is popular for the use of child soldiers despite the law prohibiting that. Still Colombians are very optimistic which made them rank number 3 in the Happy Planet Index.
